-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BurnFX 2.1.1 En - 2017/05/07 Free version only delivered for personal or familial use of the video hobbyist -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Summary: 0) Warning about version 1.x.x of BurnFX 1) What is BurnFX? 2) How to install BurnFX? 3) How to uninstall BurnFX? 4) Limitations of the personal version 5) History of modifications -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0) Warning about version 1.x.x of BurnFX: The versions since 1.0.0 propose a completely new software called BurnFX. As usual, when creating a program, it functions well on my system, but may give unexpected results on some systems. I am not able to test my programs on all different configurations. So please do not complain if it does not work well for you, and many thanks to all users who will report bugs or suggestions for improving it. E-mail: paul.glagla@free.fr. Warning: I receive so much e-mails that I prefer spending my time reading them and trying to understand bugs and suggestions, so I have not much time left for replying to them. Sorry. Let me remind you that BurnFX obeys to the following principle: it works well for me, it should work well for you, but perhaps will it not. The only way to make sure, is to test it and if it does not work to make a report to me. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) What is BurnFX? It is a program for burning DVDs in format AVCHD that can be read on Blu-Ray players or on PS3 devices, and uses m2ts files produced by an AVCHD camcorder. It keeps the strict genuine quality of the HD video without re-compressing audio or video, even if the m2ts files are in format FX, that is to say 1920 x 1080 which gives a bitrate of 24 Mbits/s, higher than the standard of 17 Mbits/s recommended for AVCHD disks. You will thus get a non standard AVCHD disk, but my experience shows that it will be perfectly playable at least on all Sony blu-ray stand alone players or PS3 stations and keeping the maximum quality. Caution, BurnFX is not a video editor, but only an easy way to archive rapidly the shots out of the camcorder and to distribute them, provided the receiver has a Blu-Ray device. It only organizes the video clips in alphabetical order, that is generally the chronological order. The original m2ts clips are seamless chained, the audio/video synchronization is kept correct where other methods often fail, and each m2ts file is considered to be a chapter, thus giving a great facility to browse through the disk. All this process is made almost automatically: 1) you load a number of m2ts files 2) BurnFX organizes them into one or several disks, to comply with the capacity of a DVD (simple face) 3) then you process the files and burn the disks with one click. BurnFX, since version 1.1.0 is shipped with three third party freewares (contained in the setup) that have been found on the web. They are used by BurnFX in a portable mode. The files are only copied to the same folder as BurnFX and are used without installation, in a portable way that does not affect a previously installed version, if any. To get information about these freewares look at the following web pages: * eac3to.exe can be found at http://www.videohelp.com/tools/eac3to * tsmuxer.exe can also be found at http://www.videohelp.com/tools/tsMuxeR * imgburn.exe has an official web pages http://www.imgburn.com/ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) How to install BurnFX BurnFX is delivered in a setup file that has to be launched. Then follow the instructions. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) How to uninstall BurnFX Launch the uninstaller, either through the control panel or with the desktop startmenu. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) Restrictions of use of the personal version This free version of BurnFX is granted only for a personal use. It is nevertheless a full version, with no functional limitations. Use of BurnFX is not permitted in companies, administrations or during professional activities. I made it specially for the video hobbyist. It is not open source, so please don't ask me for source code. If you really want to use BurnFX for professional activities, please ask me for a license, and I will send it to you against a little donation to participate for my expenses. If you cannot make a donation via paypal, I have a partnership with Share-It, a German company that can sell you the licensed version and deliver a receipt. VAT will be accounted.
